The ITER Organization

The ITER Organization, a global collaboration aiming to unlock the promise of fusion energy, has awarded a significant tender to ensure the protection and scalability of its vast scientific data infrastructure to B4Restore A/S. The newly awarded contract will help safeguard the essential data underpinning one of the most ambitious scientific endeavors of our time.

Scientific Data and Computing Center at ITER

ITER’s Scientific Data and Computing Center will fulfill one of the high-level requirements for the ITER project, which is to store, process and distribute the vast amounts of data produced throughout its lifetime. ITER’s new data center already stores tens of petabyte – but is designed to store an estimated 5 exabytes of data, which the project is expected to produce over time.

B4Restore will be responsible for a key portion of data protection services. These services will
safeguard sensitive research data across all project phases, supporting:

  • Optimized scalability, enabling ITER to expand its data capacity as experimental outputs increase over time.
